Add water and turmeric powder in pan and keep aside.
Peel the raw banana and immerse the banana inside the turmeric water to avoid browning.
Slice midways along the length and slice into slightly thicker for sarkara upperi
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat and fry the banana pieces till crispy.
It should fry very crispy till light golden colour
In a thick bottomed pan heat jaggery and water till jaggery melts. Allow the jaggery water to become thick syrupy consistency
Add the dry ginger powder and the fried banana pieces into the syrup and mix well.
Transfer to a wide plate and allow it to cool down completely and then store in an airtight container
